The Pole Road Water Association is one of Whatcom County's largest private nonprofit water utilities helping to ensure safe reliable delivery of drinking water to our community. We have been actively involved in local environmental, watershed, and utility issues in an effort to better serve the residents of our community.

Membership Waiting List

Pole Road Water Association water shares are not available at this time. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please complete the Membership Waiting List Application and return it to our office with a non-refundable $50 processing fee. 

Water Adjudication: As a property owner, do I need to file a claim form with the Department of Ecology ?
According to Department of Ecology mailers and website “If you use water directly from surface or groundwater, you must follow the instructions and file a claim form.  If you only use water from a city or other public source, you do not need to file a form.”  Pole Road Water Association is a public source of water.  It is each property owners responsibility to determine if they need to file anything with the Department of Ecology.  If you have any questions contact the Department of Ecology Bellingham field office directly.

2025 Billing Schedule

**Current Water Rates**
The Pole Road Water Association’s rates are comprised of three components: 
Base Membership Rate, Base Capital Rate & Water Use Rate (based upon gallons used)

Residential Customers (Per Residential ERU)
Tier 1:      $0.15 per 1,000 gallons for the first 8,000 gallons/billing
    Tier 2:      $0.60 per 1,000 gallons for the next 12,000 gallons/billing
    Tier 3:      $1.50 per 1,000 gallons for the next 30,000 gallons/billing
      Tier 4:      $3.00 per 1,000 gallons for the next 100,000 gallons/billing
            Tier 5:      $6.00 per 1,000 gallons for all use over 150,000 gallons/billing

Commercial (Per Commercial ERU) and Agricultural Dairy Customers (Per Agricultural ERU)
 Tier 1:       $0.15 per 1,000 gallons for the first 8,000 gallons/ billing
    Tier 2:       $0.60 per 1,000 gallons for the next 12,000 gallons/ billing
          Tier 3:       $1.50 per 1,000 gallons for all use over 20,000 gallons/ billing
